Margaret “Peggy” G. Fryman

Margaret “Peggy” G. Fryman

Margaret “Peggy” G. Fryman, 97, of Grove City, formerly of Harrisville for 70 years, went home to Glory at 12:35 a.m. Thursday at Orchard Manor.

Margaret was born June 16, 1919, in Butler, to William F. and Vergi Michael Thompson. She was raised in the Branchton area and had great memories of riding the local train to school in Butler as a youth.

She was a graduate of Butler High School in the Class of 1938. Margaret married Charles Howard Fryman Jr. July 19, 1939; he preceded her in death Nov. 4, 2009.

Margaret was known by her friends and family as a “great pie baker.” Any act of kindness or situation arising in everyday life could result in a pie being presented to anyone. Years ago, many families in the Harrisville area would receive bread, rolls and sweet treats that Margaret would bake.

Margaret and her husband, Chuck, always enjoyed each other's company whether it was raising their family, farming, camping or their church life together. She was a member of Harrisville United Methodist Church, where she was active in the church choir, church plays, quilting and helping with church meals. Together they delivered Meals on Wheels well into their 80s.

Margaret had a great love for her family and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son, Richard Fryman and his wife, Mary Jane, of Slippery Rock; her daughter-in-law, Evelyn Ann Baum and her husband, Carl, of Harrisville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Her parents; her husband; one son, Charles William “Bill” Fryman; and one sister, Katherine Taggart, preceded Margaret in death.
