BUTLER TWP — The same pickup caught fire along West Penn Street Extension three days apart, according to authorities.

Butler Fire Capt. Jim Kaufman said the same GMC Sierra that was on fire Saturday morning was ablaze Tuesday evening in the 1000 block of the street.

“It was the second time,” Kaufman said.

The Tuesday fire was reported at 6:43 p.m. Kaufman said the flames emanating from the engine and passenger compartment were doused within 25 minutes.

“The shell of it is still there,” he said.

The first fire was reported at 12:29 a.m. Saturday. A Dumpster fire in the same area was reported at 7:58 p.m. Friday.

Township police are investigating.
