Jackson man faces child porn charges
JACKSON TWP — Police say a township man has hundreds of child pornography photos and videos on his computer.
Anthony A. Palladino, 56, allegedly downloaded, viewed and stored several hundred photos and videos depicting sexual acts with minors.
He was charged Thursday with three felony counts of dissemination of child pornography, knowingly viewing the sexual abuse of children and criminal use of a communications facility.
Police reports state the investigation goes back to January 2015 when a computer was discovered sharing child pornography on a BitTorrent file-sharing network. One of the files downloaded depicts intercourse between a man and a female minor.
After tracking down the computer which downloaded the file, police interviewed Palladino at his residence.
Police said Palladino told them the computer storing the child pornography was “home built” and “hard wired” to the Internet.
He also allegedly told police he had been using peer-to-peer file sharing software for the past six months and that he begun obtaining and viewing child pornography “in the past year.”
“Palladino reported that he frequently views and then deletes the child pornography files,” the police report states. “Palladino admitted that he stores the files in the ‘download’ folder or moves the files to a second hard drive in the computer.” He also told police he views child pornography “a few times a month.”
A hard drive was recovered containing at least 14 videos and 600 images depicting child pornography and sexual abuse of children, police said.
Palladino’s preliminary hearing is Feb. 14 at District Judge Wayne Seibel’s office.
