Samuel M. Fazzino Sr.
Samuel M. Fazzino Sr., 73, of Butler passed away Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born March 15, 1943, in Butler, he was a son of the late Sam N. and Anna Mary Knotick Fazzino.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a heavy duty mechanic for 20 years. After his time in the service, he worked as a heavy duty mechanic for Hovis and Kennedy Diversified.
He was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora. He was a member of the American Legion Post 117 in Butler, the Pentastar Car Club, the Meridian Vets Club and the Butler Area Machine Association. He owned many collectible cars and was a Mopar enthusiast.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Pawlowicz Fazzino, who he married Oct. 22, 1966; five sons, Samuel M. Fazzino Jr. of Butler, Matthew J. Fazzino of Reynoldville, Pa., Christopher J. (Stella) Fazzino of Yelm, Wash., Wayne (Angela Nini) Fazzino of Butler, and Scott (Melissa) Fazzino of Freeport; 13 grandchildren; two great-grand children; one sister, Maryann Wilson of Butler; two brothers, Michael (Sandy) Fazzino of Butler and Anthony Fazzino of Clintonville, Pa.; three nieces; and three nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Merrill Fazzino.
FAZZINO — Friends of Samuel M. Fazzino Sr., who died Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 303 Penn Ave., Lyndora. The Rev. James Murphy, pastor, will officiate.
