City council OKs alcohol at park
Butler City Council passed motions making recreational fires more convenient and allowing alcohol at picnic pavilions in Butler Memorial Park.
Butler residents wanting to have a recreational fire will have to go to the Butler Fire Department to get a permit and a list of fire regulations the first time they have a recreational fire.
However, for repeat fires, they will no longer have to make repeat trips to the fire station. Instead, they can call the fire department at 724-283-3100 with their permit number and that will be considered an acceptable permit for a recreational fire.
Another motion was passed to allow alcohol at shelters at Butler County Memorial Park. Those renting shelters will be able to apply for an alcohol permit at the city treasurer’s office for an extra fee. Councilman Corey Roche said the amount of the fee will be determined at the next city council meeting in March.
