Zelienople resident Cree Mullin, who was diagnosed with autism as a child, has created a second nature-based art piece off Route 68, called “Spiderweb Mountain.” Mullin’s message to people is to explore and appreciate nature. Ryan Thompson, a senior at Slippery Rock University, followed his sister from Slippery Rock High School to SRU and joined the track program. Thompson, who recently shattered the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference record in the mile, said “I had a chance to go away to other schools, but we have a top-flight track program right here.” He is just one of the students who went from SRHS to SRU.Submitted photo
Slippery Rock University’s Josh Kniess, who played from 2002 to 2005, was a walk on. He set the university’s all-time, all-purpose yardage record of 5,188 yards and had 39 touchdowns, ranking third in the history of the program.
