Irene M. McLafferty
Irene M. McLafferty, 97, of Fenelton passed away Saturday at her home while surrounded by her family.
Born March 29, 1919, in Fenelton, she was a daughter of the late Richard J. and Margaret Sweeney Burke.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville.
She enjoyed playing cards, gambling and playing bingo. Most important was her family.
For four generations, she had hosted the family meals several times a year.
Surviving are her seven children, Stephen J. McLafferty of Herman, Richard E. (Marsha) McLafferty of Butler, Rose M. (Glenn) Hinch of Butler, Michael P. (Jean) McLafferty of Meridian, Eileen (John) Chovanes of Fenelton, Jean (Ken) Bowser of Fenelton and Rita (Paul) Huet of Fenelton; 16 grandchildren, Robert (Karen), Kelly (Justin), Stephen (Sara), Brent, Mark (Emma) and Sean (Jen) McLafferty, Maureen (Rick) Heckrote, Eric McLafferty, J.T. (Gretchen) Chovanes, Dan Chovanes and Tiffany Morrow, Kris (Robin) Bowser, Jessica Bowser and Jordan Geibel, Kim Bowser and John Shields, Jeff Bowser, Elizabeth (Eric) Baptiste and Stephanie (Jon) Snow; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen J. McLafferty; six brothers, Hugh, John, James, Joe, Harold and Frank Burke; and her daughter-in-law, Kay McLafferty.
MCLAFFERTY — Friends of Irene M. McLafferty, who died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 668 Clearfield Road, Fenelton. The Rev.
