Howard L. Martin
Howard L. Martin, 92, of Cabot passed away Sunday at the Good Samaritan Hospice.
Born July 8, 1924, in Sarver, he was the son of the late Floyd and Annie Hoak Martin.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Allegheny Ludlum Steel after 42 years.
Howard was a life member of the Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company, serving for 62 years. He also was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church and the Freeport Lions Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching NASCAR. Howard was the first of three generations in volunteer fire service.
Surviving are his son, Dennis H. (Sharon) Martin of New Kensington; his daughter, Kathleen (Carl) Comperatore of Sarver; three grandchildren, Steven Warheit of Freeport, Sean Martin of New Kensington and Alicia Martin of Wilmerding; four great-grandchildren, Miranda Warheit of Freeport, Austin Warheit of Natrona Heights, Catherine Warheit of Natrona Heights and Dennis Dolessandro of Wilmerding; and one sister, Olive Stamp of Cabot.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan S. Martin; his great-granddaughter, Cassidy Elizabeth; and two sisters, Lillian Mackelfresh and Peg Hughes.
MARTIN — Friends of Howard L. Martin, who died Sunday, March 5, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W.
