Nancy Lee Elder, 78, of Butler passed away Saturday at her winter home in Webster, Fla.

Born Dec. 9, 1938, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Wilbert Collett and Leanore Jackson Collett.

Nancy grew up in McKees Rocks, Pa. She graduated from McKees Rocks High School in 1956. She attended nursing school after various careers, including bus driver for Bauman Bus, real estate agent, nanny and first aid business. After receiving her LPN certificate, she was a nurse at Sunnyview, St. John's and the VNA until she retired. Nancy Married James H. Elder in 1957. They were married for 45 years until Jim died in 2002. Nancy was a member of Saxonburg VFD Ladies Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society. She was a paramedic for Saxonburg and Penn Township ambulance. She enjoyed her cottage at the lake and her winter home with all of her friends she called family in Webster, Fla.

Nancy is survived by her children, Jim “Fred” (Theresa) Elder of Butler, Mark (Sara Jane) Elder of Butler, Jeffrey (Ejo) Elder of Wylie, Texas, Jennifer (Gary) Tano of Butler, Shawn (significant other, Mindy Hale) Elder of Grove City, and Heidi (Ed) Holben of Saxonburg; and 15 grandchildren, David, Mark, Terry, Niki, Dezaria, Stephanie, Truman, Travis, Tanya, Rachel, Maranda, Curtis, Evan, Layna and Coltin. She also is survived by seven great-grandchildren, Zachariah, Bryce, Anthony, Emma, Elliot, Audrey and Iyla, and many nieces and nephews

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James H. Elder Jr., her sister Norma Jean Kushner and her brother, Richard (Butch) Collett.

ELDER — Friends of Nancy Lee Elder, who died Saturday, March 4, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with her nephew, Deacon David Kushner, officiating.
