Harold “Dave” D. Troutman

Harold “Dave” D. Troutman, 81, of Butler passed away Tuesday following an extended illness.

Dave was a son of the late Harold H. and Dorothy Weiland Troutman. He graduated from Butler High School in 1953.

After serving four years in the U.S. Air Force, he returned to Butler and married Joyce Michel in 1958. They were married 58 years and had five children.

Dave worked for Armco/AK Steel, where he was an area manager of power distribution, retiring in 2001 following 46 years service.

In his early years, Dave was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He enjoyed reading, boating, dancing and golfing. He was a jack-of-all-trades and could fix it all. Foremost, Dave's number one priority in life was his family, dogs included.

He was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church.

He is survived and sorrowfully missed by his wife. Harold “Dave” D. was a loving and devoted husband to Joyce Troutman; the loving father of April Sipos, Melody Troutman, Amber Tilko (Doug Rasp), Jeffery (Jennifer) Troutman and his late son, David Troutman, who died in 2001; the grandfather of Lee (Jenny) McKain, Lindsey Sipos, Megan Sipos and her fiancé, Eric Botts, Hannah (Grant) McKinnis, Joshua Tilko, Kaitlyn, Kylie, Colin and Kara Troutman; the great-grandfather of Zachary McKain; and his devoted dog, Mia.

In addition to his son, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

TROUTMAN — Friends of Harold “Dave” D. Troutman, who died Tuesday, March 14, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler, with the Rev. James Murphy, pastor, to officiate. Interment will follow at the Butler County Memorial Park.A prayer service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church.
