Wild win for Rockets
Freshman David Duffalo roped a doubled that plated Zach Van Dyke with the winning run in the top of the ninth as Slippery Rock won a showdown between the top two teams in the region, 7-6, over Hickory Friday afternoon.
Slippery Rock (7-2, 4-1) led 6-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning, but Hickory scored six in the frame to tie the game.
Dylan Dingle had a pair of hits and two RBI, Danny Williams singled twice and Van Dyke had three hits for the Rockets.
Ricky Mineo picked up the win in relief of Dingle, tossing four scoreless innings.

Taylor Carr scored five goals to lead the Knoch girls lacrosse team to an 11-8 win over Freeport Friday night.
Brenna Moore added four goals for the Knights.
Freeport was led by Chrissy Conklin, who scored four goals.
Shaler 11, Mars 10 — Paige Seles scored five goals to lead the Planets.

Claire Crytzer hit a three-run home run and also singled as Freeport blanked Valley 8-0.
Ali DeJidas also homered and is batting over .700 this season.
Kristie Radvan got the win, striking out 10 in seven innings. She also doubled and singled at the plate.
