Arthur C. Campbell

Arthur C. Campbell, 75, a resident of Plainfield, Ill., and formerly of Glendale Heights, Ill., passed away peacefully Sunday at his home, surrounded by the love of his family.

Arthur was born Nov. 24, 1941, in Butler County. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Sherry Blom Campbell; his loving children, Jeffrey C. Campbell of Plainfield, Ill., and Samantha Foskett of Minooka, Ill.; his cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr., Nicole Marie and Dylan Raymond Campbell, Holly Melissa Foskett and Benjamin Austin Phillips; his dear siblings, Jean (the late Bob) Campbell Fry, Vera (Leslie) Campbell Edinboro and William (Carole) Campbell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Cory Austin Bazdor; his parents, Richard and Viletta Campbell; his siblings, Reed (the late Betty) Campbell, George (Gayle) Campbell, Bruce (the late Peggy) Campbell, Jim (the late Joan) Campbell and Joan (the late Lou) Campbell Bell.

Arthur was born and raised in Western Pennsylvania and was part of the last graduating class of Concord High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962. He retired at the age of 55 from the Chicago Transit Authority after 32 years of loyal service.

Arthur was a deacon at the First Christian Church of Glen Ellyn and was currently a member of the Grace Bible Church, Minooka, Ill. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

CAMPBELL — Visitation for Arthur C. Campbell, who died Sunday, March 19, 2017, will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, corner of Routes 30 and 59, Plainfield, Ill.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jason Miley, pastor, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at the Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, Ill.For information please visit www.overman-jones.com.
