Residential development planned in Jackson Twp.
JACKSON TWP — Official talks took place Wednesday evening about a new housing development planned for Evans Road.
The township planning commission, engineers and residents discussed the 111-home development proposed by Cranberry Township-based company PPDA, owned by developer Don Rodgers.
“The project is anticipated to be very positive and beneficial to the community and provide quality housing for township residents,” said Graham Ferry, project manager and senior engineer for Sheffler & Company.
Ferry gave a presentation Wednesday for the planning commission, detailing the homes and plans for the area.
"It (development) takes advantage of the natural site amenities in the area while continuing to provide extensive protection of environmentally sensitive areas,” he said.
Jackson's Ridge is the official name of the development. It was previously called Peyton Place.
The single-family homes will be built on 67.75 acres between Evans Road and Interstate 79 near Yellow Barn Lane and Youngblood Drive.
