Jack L. Shaffer Sr.

Jack L. Shaffer Sr., 81, of Sarver passed away Monday at the Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born May 9, 1935, in Curtisville, Pa., he was the son of the late George W. Shaffer and Bonnie L. (Elza) Shaffer.

He retired from Inland Products as a truck mechanic. Jack enjoyed fishing, fixing broken things, loving animals and taking care of children.

Surviving are his children, Jack (Lisa) Shaffer Jr. of Valencia, Selma Shaffer of West Sunbury, Anita (Dave) Ostrowski of Curtisville, Lisa (Steve) Laboda of Valencia, Kevin (Lorraine) Shaffer of West Sunbury, Brian Shaffer of Valencia and John Shaffer of Sarver; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his sister, Nelda (Albert) Juther of Saxonburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet M. Shaffer; and his brothers, Lillard W. Shaffer and George D. Shaffer.

SHAFFER — Friends of Jack L. Shaffer Sr., who died Monday, April 3, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with his grandson, the Rev. Scott Shaffer, pastor of the Faith United Methodist Church, Fox Chapel, officiating.
