Marie E. Rhodes Marree
Marie E. Rhodes Marree, 97, formerly of the North Side in Pittsburgh, passed away Wednesday at the Concordia Lutheran Home at the Orchard.
Born Dec. 31, 1919, in Carrick, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Fred Rhodes and Kathern Lacher Rhodes.
A 1938 graduate of Carrick High School, Marie worked as a full charge bookkeeper for various companies throughout her career, finally retiring in 1996. She was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church in Butler. Marie enjoyed traveling, bowling, bingo and spending time with her friends and family.
Surviving are her son, Edward J. Marree; her daughter-in-law, Louise B. Marree; three grandchildren, Douglas Marree, Nicholas Marree and Amy Marree Sant; five great-grandchildren, Caleb, Olivia, Samantha, Mason and Lainey; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward N. Marree; and her brother, George F. Rhodes.
MARREE — Friends of Marie E. Rhodes Marree, who died Wednesday, April 5, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler.
