The Butler County Community College softball team saw the best season in program history come to an end over the weekend in the NJCAA District H best-of-three championship series against Suffolk County Community College.

The Pioneers lost 9-3 and 11-1.

Knoch graduates Codi Reed, Jessi Reed and Hayle Fox each doubled in the losses.

Codi Reed also had a RBI.

Butler graduate Noel Pfabe and Karns City graduate Saydie Moore each had two singles and a RBI and Slippery Rock High grad Alexis Vogan had a RBI single for BC3.

The Pioneers finished the season 20-5 and were one of the final 16 teams in the country.

Suffolk will move on to the NJCAA World Series in Rochester, Minn., next weekend.
