GRADUATES
Samantha Barnhart of Butler graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in English writing and film studies and a minor in Spanish.
She graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA. She also was the English bachelor of arts valedictorian.
Barnhart was a member of Cook Honors College, editor in chief of The Penn student newspaper, a member of Sigma Tau Delta and New Growth Arts Review literary magazine, and organized the first IUP Undergraduate Multidisciplinary Conference.
She participated in a faculty-led study abroad program in Oxford, England, and a semester abroad at the University of Essex.
She also completed a summer internship at Imagination Stage in Bethesda, Md.
She has been accepted into the University of Cambridge for a master’s degree in film and screen studies.
She is the daughter of Roger and Janice Barnhart of Butler and is a 2013 graduate of Butler High School.

Daryll Lynn Kingan of Bakerstown graduated magna cum laude and received a bachelor’s degree in art education from Edinboro University.
She is a 2013 graduate of Pine-Richland High School and the daughter of Douglas and Diane Kingan of Bakerstown.
—–—Emily Jean Hayes of Sarver graduated from Penn State New Kensington with honors and received an associate degree in radiological sciences.Hayes won first place at Penn State University’s main campus for her presentation and poster on hypophosphatasia.
