Woman who died kayaking worked in Cranberry Twp.
PITTSBURGH — A West View woman who worked for a Cranberry Township company died kayaking at the Dashields Lock and Dam on the Ohio River.
Witnesses saw a second kayak go over the dam Saturday afternoon.
Officials recovered the body of Brittany Evans, 25, about 6:20 p.m. Saturday, but called off the search for a second kayaker at sundown before resuming this morning.
Evans was an employee of PLS Logistics Services, a shipping company with headquarters in Cranberry Township.
Witnesses saw the two kayaks go over the dam Saturday afternoon.
She was a 2013 graduate of West Virginia University, where she studied marketing.
