4:30 a.m. Sunday — Chelsea L. Cornetti, 27, of Butler was arrested after she allegedly attacked her boyfriend at a home on Cleveland Street.

The victim, Josh Hodak, told police that he and the defendant were arguing when she climbed on top of him and began punching him in the face, according to court documents.

He also accused Cornetti of biting him on the right side of the ribs. Police said Hodak suffered a swollen lip and bruises on the ribs.

Cornetti was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.

3:37 p.m. Wednesday — Travis F. Fair, 26, of Butler Township was arrested after he allegedly threatened a man and later showed up with a claw hammer at the man’s house on North Chestnut Street.

But it was Fair who ended up injured. He even called police for help.

Fair is accused of getting into an argument with 30-year-old Justin Dunkin at Dunkin’s home in the 300 block of North Chestnut Street. During the altercation, according to court documents, the defendant “threatened to bring a gun and shoot Dunkin in the head.”

He left but returned a short time later in a vehicle. When he stepped out of the car, he had a hammer in his hand, documents said. Dunkin punched the defendant, who retreated to his car and called police.

Officers said Fair was bleeding from the left ear when they arrived.

He was arraigned on a charge of terroristic threats. He is free on $5,000 bail.

Police Deputy Chief David Adam said Dunkin was not charged because he was acting to defend himself and because Fair precipitated the argument.
