Jobless Rate
Butler County continued to have the lowest unemployment rate in the nine-county region at 4.6 percent in March, the latest month for which numbers are available. The county with the most improvement during the month was Clarion County, which dropped from 6.3 percent to 5.3 percent. In March, the county had a work force of 98,100, with 93,600 employed and 4,500 unemployed.
