Kade Jordan Shipkowski
Kade Jordan Shipkowski, 21, of Butler unexpectedly passed away at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017.
He was born Feb. 19, 1996, in Lewistown, Pa., to Ryan S. Shipkowski and Genna Speece. Kade grew up in Western and Central Pennsylvania and was a resident of Butler. He was a 2014 graduate of Indian Valley High School in Lewistown.
Kade was a free spirit who loved the outdoors, nature, traveling, music and the arts. He spent much of his free time writing poetry, making bracelets, painting and was an avid reader.
Kade is survived by his father, Ryan (Desiree) Shipkowski of Yeagertown, Pa., and his mother, Genna Speece of Belleville, Pa.
He also leaves behind his paternal grandparents, Frank and Linda Shipkowski of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; and his maternal grandparents, Sharon Thomas of Belleville, Pa., and George Speece Jr. of Lewistown, Pa.
He also is survived by three siblings, Dylan Guthridge of Washington state, Tiffany Shipkowski and her daughter, Layla, of Reedsville, Pa., and Harley Speece of Belleville, Pa.
Other loving family include his uncles, Kurt (Corrie) Shipkowski of Mechanicsburg, Anthony (Heather) Shipkowski of Cherry Point, N.C., and George (Heather) Speece of Fort Drum, N.Y.
In addition, Kade had many extended family members who cared for him deeply.
He is preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Hugh and Dolores Curry, formerly of Butler.
Kade's entire family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all who reached out to them during this difficult time. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends who knew and loved him.
