Rita S. Kumpfmiller Niwransky, 96, of West Sunbury, formerly of Allison Park, passed away Tuesday at her home.

Rita was born April 5, 1921, in Pittsburgh. She was the daughter of the late John Kumpfmiller and the late Gertrude Hohman Kumpfmiller.

Rita was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Glenshaw. She had been employed at Glenshaw Glass and Kaufmann's Department Store.

Rita is survived by one daughter, Patricia Quaid of Colorado; one son, Jeff Kumpfmiller and his wife Debbie Welsh Michael, of West Sunbury; one grandson, Cody Quaid of Colorado; two great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren.

Also surviving are one sister, Elsie McDonough of Florida; and one brother, Dennis Kumpfmiller of Pittsburgh.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and one sister.

NIWRANSKY — Friends of Rita S. Kumpfmiller Niwransky, who died Tuesday, April 25, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.A blessing service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Bedillion of St. Alphonsus Parish officiating.
