Sleepy suspects nabbed while napping
BUTLER TWP — Two alleged Philadelphia drug dealers were caught napping — literally — in a pickup truck while illegally parking in a handicap spot at a convenience store.
Among the cache of contraband that Butler Township police would eventually seize during the sleepy suspects' early Thursday morning arrest were bags of methamphetamine and Ecstasy, and more than $1,000 in currency.
One of the alleged traffickers also had a welfare benefits Access card.
Both defendants — 46-year-old Gregory Charles Brown and 41-year-old Eric Ugean Moutrie — are being held in the Butler County Prison on a list of felony and other charges.
Brown, it turned out, was already out on bail in an out-of-county felony drug case, according to court records
A Butler police officer on patrol about 2:35 a.m. first spotted the suspects in a pickup at the Sheetz store parking lot on Center Avenue near the city-township line.
He notified township police, who would soon find Brown and Moutrie dozing in the truck. Officers had to repeatedly knock on the windows and shine their flashlights before awakening the men.
