Wanda Rodgers
Wanda Rodgers, 64, of Karns City passed away peacefully on Saturday after a long struggle with many complications of diabetes.
She was surrounded by her loving sisters at the Clarview Nursing Home in Sligo, where she lived for more than four years. Previously she lived with her husband in Butler.
Born March 6, 1953, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Helen Lucas Shanafelt and James Shanafelt.
Wanda was a beautician and then worked as a baker in the Butler Walmart's bakery department. She was a graduate of Keystone High School in Knox, Clarion County, and, also, a graduate from Ora Jean Beauty School in Erie, Pa. She worked several years as a beautician in the Butler area.
She is survived by her sisters, Sandra (Ben) Beichner of Shippenville, Pa., Patricia (Jack) Allmendinger of Knox, Pamala (Jeff) Shively of Karns City, Robin (Donald) Ivol of Bethel Park, Nancy (the late Ron) Shanafelt of Reimersburg and Kathy Shanafelt of Emlenton; her brothers, Rodger Shanafelt of Vermont, Samuel (the late Barb) Brothers of Fairview, Dallas Dean (Sue) Shanafelt of Tionesta; and her stepchildren, Tony (Cathy) Rodgers of Aiken, S.C., and Pam (Michael) Beechem of Surprise, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde A. Rodgers on Oct. 11, 2014; her sisters, Mary Jane Shanafelt, Barbara (Sam) Brothers, Linda Williams; and her brothers, Larry Shanafelt, Arthur (Kathy) Shanafelt and Ronald (Nancy) Shanafelt; and her stepson, Patrick Rodgers
RODGERS — Friends of Wanda Rodgers, who died Saturday, April 29, 2017, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. at the STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 Main and E. Slippery Rock streets, Chicora, with the Rev. Brenda Reitler of Zion Assembly Church of God, Karns City, officiating.
