Night rides expand at this year’s festival
More than 1,000 people enjoy going off-road on a network of trails during the Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival. The trails range in difficulty based on the capabilities of the participating Jeeps.
Last year, the festival added a new night trail ride that sold out in a matter of days. The activity was called Bantam Jeep Night Ops Mission 2016.
The festival received so much positive feedback that this year two nighttime trails are being offered. One stock trail will be for Jeeps whose drivers want to use their lights and the other stock trail will be for Jeeps using only parking lights and the headlights of their guide. Rigid LED, Volant Performance and North Country Brewing Company are making the event possible.
“There is a huge difference between riding in the dark versus during the daylight,” said Mark Gaydosh, Bantam Night Ops Mission 2017 manager. “At night, you don’t get the chance to see the rough terrain, water bars, rocks and other obstacles that make a very mild ride seem much more difficult in the dark.”
This event expands the festival’s offerings to a fourth day since it takes place on Thursday. On-site registration is not available for this event.
