Saturday night's all right for fun at Jeep festival
The Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival generates more than $1.5 million in business in Butler County alone.
This year, two new events on Saturday will grow that number even more.
North Country Canning Company and Starlight Drive-In will host events on Saturday starting at 6 p.m. that are open to both festival attendees and the community.
At Jeep Night at the Cannery, attendees can take free tours where they will learn how beer is brewed, packaged and distributed in cans and kegs to three different states. A local band, Coleville, will entertain guests, and a menu featuring beer-brined chicken, baked beans and potato salad will be served for $12. Beer is an additional charge. This event is sponsored by Skyjacker Suspensions and ends at 10 p.m.
“I have loved everything about Jeeps since I was very young,” Bob McCafferty, North Country Brewing Company owner, said. “We could not be more excited to share a little bit of what we do with all the festival-goers.”
Jeeps will also make their way to Starlight Drive-In just north of Butler for Jeep’n at the Drive-In on Saturday starting at 6 p.m. The night begins with a pig roast complete with garlic potatoes, coleslaw, baked beans and cornbread. Local band Center Stage will get the crowd rocking before the movie and Hobby Express of Cranberry Township will be demonstrating its RC vehicles for the attendees.
“We cannot wait for all of this to come together on June 10th. Jeeps everywhere, BBQ pig roast, live music and movies under the stars. It is going to be a blast!” Beth and John Manson, owners of Starlight Drive-In, said.
The Jeep screen will feature “Lara Croft Tomb Raider” beginning at 9:15 p.m., followed by the original “Jurassic Park.”
Adults who arrive in a Jeep will receive $1 off the ticket price.
The first 100 to stop by Meridian Off-Road Center at 655 New Castle Road may receive a free admission coupon to the drive-in and enter to win four Fox 2.0 shocks by BDS Suspension.
Jeep’n at the Drive-In is sponsored by JKS Manufacturing and Hobby Express.
