Michael D. Bigney

Michael D. Bigney, 69, of Sarver, formerly of DuBois, Pa., died Sunday at Saxony Health Center in Saxonburg.

Born April 12, 1948, in DuBois, Pa., he was the son of the late Shirley D. and Betty Palmer Bigney.

Michael was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War.

He retired from Glenn O. Hawbaker. Before that, he had worked in security at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.

Michael was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. He was a Boy Scout leader for many years.

He is survived by three children, Heather Lynne Anne Bigney of Sarver, Brent J. Bigney of DuBois, Pa., and Michael G. Bigney and his wife, Jana, of Waterford, Va.; his brother, Patrick Bigney, and his wife, Loretta, of Vero Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Vanessa Wascovich, Kyle Bigney and Palmer and Joelle Bigney.

BIGNEY — A scriptural wake service for Michael D. Bigney, who died Sunday, May 7, 2017, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Baronick Funeral Home and Crematorium, 211 S. Main St., DuBois, PA, followed by visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Siefer as celebrant.Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the church.
