Rita Mae Carbin Fleming

Rita Mae Carbin Fleming, 94, of West Sunbury passed away Tuesday at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Rita was born May 8, 1923, in Butler. She was the daughter of the late Frederick Carbin and the late Catherine Hornberger Carbin. Rita was a homemaker and a member of St. Alphonsus Parish, having attended St. Louis Catholic Church.

Rita is survived by two daughters, Elaine (Thomas) Ambuster of Butler and Margaret “Peggy” Burkett of Chicora; two sons, Glenn Fleming and James (Annie) Fleming, both of West Sunbury; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Kriley of Butler; one brother, Victor (Mary) Carbin of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, G. Edward Fleming, who died April 8, 2017; her son-in-law, John Burkett Jr.; her great-grandson, Dylan Johnson; seven brothers; and six sisters.

FLEMING — The family of Rita Mae Carbin Fleming, who died Tuesday, May 9, 2017, will receive friends at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church with the Rev.
