Shirley A. Kunz

Shirley A. Kunz, 82, of Zelienople, formerly of Pine Township, Gibsonia, died Thursday afternoon, at Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.

Born in Pittsburgh on March 4, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Urben Straub.

Shirley was a member of St. Kilian Church and the Christian Mothers there. She also belonged to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, both local and national.

She and her late husband Jim had owned Kunz Antiques in Wexford for many years.

Beloved mother of James T. Kunz Jr. (Opal) of Pittsburgh, Charles A. Kunz (Pauline) of Kewanee, Ill., Lisa Uziel (Gary) of Mars and Monica Bradel (John) of Rochester, Pa. She also is survived by nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Catherine Dietz (Ed) of Wexford; two brothers, Charles R. Straub Jr. (Linda) in Montana and Woody Straub (Nancy) in Florida; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Kunz Sr., who she married on Aug. 29, 1953, and who died on July 2, 2006.

KUNZ — Friends of Shirley A. Kunz, who died Thursday, May 18, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave. Mars.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Road, Cranberry Township, with the Rev. Charles Bober, officiating.

Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Township. Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Directions and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
