Virginia LeRoy Maust Thompson
Virginia LeRoy Maust Thompson, 93, of Chapin, S.C., formerly of Butler, passed away Sunday in South Carolina.
She was born Dec. 22, 1923, in Indiana County, Pa., the daughter of the late Jules C. and Rhoda Gething LeRoy.
Virginia graduated from Morgantown High School in West Virginia and had attended West Virginia University. After her marriage, she was employed by DuPont, Davis-Wilson Coal Co. and Gulf Oil Corp. as an auditor.
Virginia was a member of Covenant United Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing bridge, having belonged to several clubs. Virginia had belonged to the Intermediate Club and Butler Country Club. She was a past president of the Women's Medical Auxiliary Society. She was an avid lover of sports and enjoyed supporting all the professional Pittsburgh teams and the WVU football and basketball teams.
Surviving are her daughter, Marilyn C. “Missy” (Richard A.) White of Chapin, S.C.; three sons, Allan B. (Rebecca) Maust of Butler, Keith P. (Beth) Maust of Pawleys Island, S.C., and Jason B. (Stephanie) Maust of Butler; seven grandchildren, Dr. Megan White and her husband, Nicholas Zappitelli, of Austin, Texas, Daniel White of Chapin, S.C., Garrett (Ashley) Maust of Clover, S.C., Ryan Maust of Brooklyn, N.Y., Paul Maust, Robert Maust and Malena Maust, all of Butler; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Maust of Clover, S.C.; and her brother, Robert V. (Traci) LeRoy of Wilmington, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jules F. Maust; her sister, Florence M. LeRoy; and her brother, Jules F. LeRoy.
THOMPSON — Friends of Virginia LeRoy Maust Thompson, who died Sunday, May 28, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. James E. Swanson officiating.
