Marianne A. (Ambrose) Morgan

Marianne A. (Ambrose) Morgan of Butler, 84, passed away on Wednesday.

She was the beloved wife of the late James N. Morgan Jr.; loving mother of Rebecca McCormick, Jonathan (Linda) Morgan and James N. (Deborah) Morgan III; sister of David Ambrose of Lewisville and the late Sarah Litch; cherished grandmother of 22; and great-grandmother of 19.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary (Mortimer) Ambrose.

Marianne was a caring, strong and committed person to what she believed.

She founded the Butler County Daycare program and started her own daycare in Evans City. She dedicated her life to the welfare of children.

She also cofounded the first center for abused women in Butler, which is now known as V.O.I.C.E.

Marianne was a great example to her children and community. She was a mother to many people that were not her own and she was always there for you if you needed her.

Marianne loved her animals and was an avid bird watcher. If you see a cardinal, think of her.

MORGAN — Services and interment for Marianne A. (Ambrose) Morgan, who died Wednesday, May 31, 2017, will be private.
