Kenneth LeRoy Steiner
Kenneth LeRoy Steiner, 87, of Petrolia passed away Saturday at The Caring Place in Franklin.
Ken was born Jan. 31, 1930, in Grove City.
He was the son of the late Henry Raymond Steiner and the late Mabel Pauline Steiner.
Ken is survived by his darling wife of 63 years, Norma Hegburg Steiner; one daughter, Charlene (Gary) Fleeger of Butler; five sons, LeRoy (Pam) Steiner of Harrisville, Jeffrey Steiner (Stephanie Lukavich) of West Sunbury, Steven Steiner (Michelle Bryce) of Aiken, S.C., Jerry (Pam) Steiner of North Washington and Kenneth (Dawn) Steiner of Eau Claire; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Ken proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He retired in 1991 from PennDOT, where he was an inspector.
He was always very involved in the community and was instrumental in starting the Midget Football League at Moniteau, where he also served on the School Board.
He was a lifelong member of the American Legion and the VFW, where he served as the secretary/treasurer.
Ken loved attending NASCAR races with his sons. He also was an avid Steelers fan. In his later years, he enjoyed nature and loved bird watching. Everyone who knew Ken knew how very much he loved his family.
Ken was preceded in death by his infant son, David Steiner; one granddaughter, Michelle Steiner Fleeger; and one sister, Sandra Glidden.
STEINER — Friends of Kenneth LeRoy Steiner who died Saturday, June 3, 2017, will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert V.
