Butler man allegedly strikes security guard at Clearview
CENTER TWP — A Butler man was charged Monday with aggravated assault after allegedly striking a Clearview Mall security guard with his SUV last month.
State police also charged Peter David Gall, 30, with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct and harassment.
According to the affidavit, Michael Choate-Speckert and a second security officer on June 20 informed Gall he had to leave the parking lot since the mall was closed. A time was not specified in the criminal complaint.
The affidavit states Gall became upset and uncooperative, driving his Jeep Grand Cherokee around in circles to prevent the security officers from seeing his license plate.
Choate-Speckert then got out of the security vehicle to speak with Gall.
According to the affidavit, “Peter Gall drove his vehicle toward and struck Michael Choate-Speckert intentionally. After Michael Choate-Speckert was struck, he jumped back and out of the way. Peter Gall then deliberately turned his vehicle and drove toward Michael Choate-Speckert a second time.”
The affidavit states Choate-Speckert then pulled out his gun, causing Gall to flee the scene.
Gall turned himself into authorities Tuesday night. He is jailed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bond.
