John C. King, 88, of Chicora passed into the heavenly presence of Jesus Tuesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

John was born March 8, 1929, in Chicora. He was the son of the late Elias I. King and the late Alvina Fleming King.

John graduated from Clarion State Teachers College with a Bachelor of Science in Education and was a research chemist for MSA in Evans City. He was a member of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church.

John is survived by one daughter, Shirley (Dennis) King-Popielarczyk of Ariz.; four sons, Dr. Paul (Kathy) King of Ind., Roy (Judi) King of S.C., Glenn (Nancy) King of Md. and Terry (Kathy) King of Texas; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Evadine Mae Curfman King, who died Aug. 28, 2010; one brother; and three sisters.

KING — Friends of John C. King, who died Tuesday, June 13, 2017, will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church with the Rev.
