Benjamin J. McCormick

Benjamin J. McCormick

Benjamin J. McCormick, 23, of Clay Township passed away Friday at Allegheny General Hospital following his struggle with addiction.

Benjamin was born in Grove City on Dec. 3, 1993, to Rob (Pepper) McCormick and Chris (Lessner) McCormick.

He was a carpenter and worked for Kastellic Construction Co. Benny was a wild child with the inability to sit still for any extended amount of time. However, the one place he could sit and find his peace was in his treestand during archery season. Although it was difficult for his family to watch him struggle with his dependency, they are comforted by the fact that he is free from the chains of addiction that bound him for years.

Benjamin’s family would like to personally extend their gratitude to the 5th floor Butler Memorial Hospital nurses; the AGH MICU nurses; and the CORE foundation for their compassion in such a difficult time. They not only attended to Benjamin’s comfort and needs but his parents’ and siblings’ as well.

In addition to his parents, Rob and Chris, of Clay Township, he is survived by one sister, Gretchen McCormick, of Boulder, Colo.; and one brother, Zachary (Ziggy) McCormick, of Butler.

MCCORMICK — Services and burial of Benjamin J. McCormick, who died Friday, June 16, 2017, are being handled by William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Services will be private.
