Theresa E. Stirling

Theresa E. Stirling, 90, formerly of Butler, died peacefully June 24 in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Born Nov. 24, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Theresa Erdos and youngest of nine children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Charles F. Stirling, and all siblings.

Theresa was a woman of strong will and Christian faith whose lifelong mission was to share the joy and love of her Lord by serving others. She was a faithful life-long member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, where she served as a choir member and Sunday school teacher, both for 65 years.

She was an avid gardener, a florist specializing on wedding flowers, and a long-term member of the Meridian Buttercup Garden Club. She was a great baker and known by many as the “Cookie Lady.”

She is survived by her daughters Jan Kelly and her husband, Tom, in Butler and Gayle Jameson and her husband, Jeff, in Scottsdale, Ariz.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

STIRLING — A memorial service for Theresa E. Stirling, who died Saturday, June 24, 2017, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with the Rev. Dr. Towberman, officiating.
