Pauline “Polly” Huffman

Pauline “Polly” Huffman, 89, of Zelienople passed away Sunday while under the care of VNA Inpatient Hospice, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born April 27, 1928, in Vandergrift, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Pauline (George) Bush, and sister of H. Ralph (Nancy) Bush.

Polly was a graduate of McKeesport High School. She was retired from John's Manville/BNZ Materials in Zelienople. She was involved in many groups throughout her life, including the Boy Scouts and the Zelienople Historical Society.

She was a 54-year member of Park United Presbyterian Church, where she had served as an elder, and taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school.

Polly was a loving, caring, remarkable woman of great faith. She enjoyed spending time with family, gardening and soaking up the sun. Polly was also an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins.

She will be dearly missed by her son, David (Deedee) Huffman of Laurel Springs, N.J.; her grandchildren, Amy (Brett) Quickle of Evans City, Melissa Huffman of Bradenton, Fla., Russell Huffman of Laurel Springs, N.J., Arianna Huffman of Chambersburg, Pa. and Chelsea (Brad) Gosson of Oak Harbor, Wash.; her great-grandchildren, Alexa Gilson, Gabriella and David Gosson, Austin Huffman and Graham Huffman-Hutchins; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many others who called her Grandma.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Sherman Huffman; her sisters, Dorothy Stuedler Blue and Harriet Wiskeman; and her great-grandson, Hunter Huffman.

HUFFMAN — Friends of Pauline “Polly” Huffman, who died Sunday, July 16, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.Entombment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Township, with a luncheon immediately following at Park United Presbyterian Church Hall.Memorial donations may be made in Polly's honor to Park United Presbyterian Church, 109 E.
