Donald “Duck” Ray Moyer II

Donald “Duck” Ray Moyer II, 51, of Butler passed away doing what he loved due to an accident on Tuesday morning.

He was born Feb. 18, 1966, in Butler and was the son of Donald Ray and Patricia Osborne Moyer.

He was a heavy equipment operator/trucker and had been employed by Wiest Asphalt Products & Paving of Butler for 26 years.

Donald loved spending time with his granddaughters and playing games with his son. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also loved to kayak. He was known for always helping others.

Survivors include his mother; one son, Matt (Britney) Moyer of Butler; three sisters, Tammy (Dale) Sims of Prospect, Veronica (John) Hoadley of West Chester and Lorraine Moyer of Pittsburgh; two granddaughters, Serena and Nova; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Donald was preceded by his father and by his stepfather, Earl “Grassy” Bowser.

MOYER — Friends and family of Donald “Duck” Ray Moyer II, who died Tuesday, July 18, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Jay Bryan Funeral Home, 443 Main St., Prospect.Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Presbyterian Church of Prospect with the Rev. Steve Cort officiating.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Butler City Police K-9 fund. A celebration of Donald's life is being planned and will be announced later.
