Volunteers clean up Connoquenessing Creek

Volunteers of all ages Saturday pulled various refuse — including hundreds of tires — from an 18-mile stretch of the Connoquenessing Creek between Harmony Junction in Jackson Township and Ellwood City.
This year marked the sixth annual creek cleanup organized by the Allegheny Aquatic Alliance. Another cleanup is planned for Sept. 9.
