Lisa Marie Ceasar

Lisa Marie Ceasar

Lisa Marie Ceasar passed away July 14 at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (Southwestern Regional Medical Center) in Tulsa, Okla. She was 58.

Born April 12, 1959, in Butler, Lisa was the daughter of Ralph and Elizabeth (McDevitt) Purvis. She was raised and educated around her birth community, graduating high school from nearby Slippery Rock. Following high school, Lisa made a move to Clarksville, Tenn., and, for a time, to Fort Campbell, Ky. It was during this season of her life that she welcomed her only son, Kevin.

It wasn't long until Lisa returned home with young Kevin. She soon began employment as a truck driver, a career that would span more than 30 years. It was with this occupation that Lisa was able to support both she and Kevin. In addition, Lisa's parents were always present and influential in Kevin's upbringing and Lisa enjoyed their presence and sharing life together with them.

A simple woman, Lisa enjoyed living on her small acreage with her dogs and barn cats. She was a great cook and baker — something that was passed down to her by her mother (if only that secret recipe for lemon meringue pie, along with the special touch that enabled both Lisa or her mother to make it perfect every time, were available to us today then the world would be a much sweeter and happier place).

While at home, local radio and whatever television she could pick up from the antenna were more than sufficient for Lisa. Quite selfless in many respects, Lisa always put others before herself — especially her animals. At the same time, Lisa was a driven individual and could be a bit persistent.

A woman of sharp mind and memory, Lisa will be remembered for her ability to tell a great story. And her infectious laugh and constant smile will certainly be missed by those who knew her well.

Lisa is survived by her son, Kevin Ceasar, and his wife, Tiffany; a brother, Richard Joe Purvis; and a sister, Mary Lou Coradi.

She was preceded in death by her parents and the father of her son, Bernard Albert Ceasar.
