Rita E. Dean
Rita E. Dean, 77, of Butler, passed away Thursday at Saxony Health Center in Saxonburg.
Rita was born Jan. 6, 1940, in Butler. She was one of six children of the late Joseph and Elinor Cottrill Lesnik.
Her life was that of a devoted wife and loving mother. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Rita was visually impaired and worked at the Butler County Blind Association for 10 years. She was a member of Saint Peters Roman Catholic Church who enrolled her three children in the Catholic school system. She wanted the best for her family and always encouraged them by supporting the activities they were involved in. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, music and having her daughters read to her.
Surviving are two daughters Mrs. Rosemarie (John) Fornari of Butler and Mrs. Lisa (Craig) Taliani of Cheswick; her daughter-in-law Mrs. Melinda (Albert) Dean of Hermitage; four grandchildren, Suzanne L. Nashtock of Raleigh N.C., Mason A. Dean of Hermitage and Maria R. Taliani and Katrina I. Taliani of Cheswick; two brothers, Joseph (Ruth) Lesnik of East Butler and Kenneth (Patty) Lesnik of Butler; her sister, Mildred (Tony) Van Grootenbruel of Butler; her brothers-in-law, Domenic (Barbara) Trombatt Sr. of Butler and Max (Linda) Baptiste of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Albert W. Dean; her son, Albert W Dean Jr.; her brother, William Lesnik, K.I.A. in Vietnam; and her sister, Barbara Trombatt.
Rita was a kind and gentle mother who was always there for her family, and her presence will be sadly missed.
DEAN — Friends of Rita E. Dean, who died Thursday, July 27, 2017, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler.
