Woman accused of attacking trooper

BRUIN — A 55-year-old borough woman was arrested for felony assault after she allegedly punched a trooper called to her home for a domestic dispute last week.

Vickie L. Warner is being held in the Butler County Prison on $25,000 bail. She is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Police said the defendant appeared intoxicated after they were called to her house on School Street about 5:20 p.m. Thursday. She was taken outside and told to remain on the front porch.

But she is accused of disobeying police orders and trying to return inside the home.

Trooper Philip Treadway eventually moved in to arrest her, documents said, but she turned around and struck him in the chest multiple times with an open hand and closed fist.

But that wasn't all, police said. She also is accused of hitting Treadway in the right leg with an ashtray that was on a table on the porch.

Her preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 5 at the office of District Judge Lewis Stoughton in Chicora.
