Bruce C. Junker
Bruce C. Junker, 85, of Chicora passed away Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospice in Concordia Home in Cabot following a lingering illness.
He was born Feb. 5, 1932, in Pittsburgh, the son of Carl and Mary Meussner Junker.
He was a 1957 graduate of California University of Pa., with a bachelor's degree in education. He received a master's degree in industrial education in 1967.
He and his wife Marjorie started Junker's Greenhouse in 1968 and Junker's Flower Shop in 1978. He taught industrial art in East Brady High School for 28 years retiring in 1985.
He was an elder at Saint Paul Community Church in Chicora, a financial secretary for Oak Grove Cemetery Association, a member of Bradys Bend American Legion Post 488, and a member of Masonic Lodge 244 Kittanning-East Brady A Free and Accepted Mason. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was also member of East Brady Rotary Club and Sugarcreek Volunteer Fire Department and a founding member of Sugarcreek Volunteer Fire Department Ambulance Service.
He married Marjorie Russell Nov. 26, 1952, who died unexpectedly Sept. 30, 2016.
He is survived by three daughters, Elaine and Todd Marshall of Webster Groves, Mo., Karen and David Conrad of Chicora and Brenda and David Bly of Karns City; one son, Bruce K. and Kathy Junker of Butler; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Robinson and Ruth Ramming; and one brother, Carl Junker Jr.
JUNKER — Friends of Bruce C. Junker, who died Sunday, July 30, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, corner of 111 East Slippery Rock and Main streets, Chicora, and from 10 a.m. until time of the service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Saint Paul Community Church, Route 268 Chicora Road, with Pastor Ryan Lucas officiating.
