Mark Richards Larson

Mark Richards Larson, 71, of Slippery Rock, passed away at his home Wednesday.

He was born in Hartford, Conn., on Feb. 7, 1946, to Leslie Everett Larson and Irene Richards Larson.

Mark was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. He married Mildred Elaine Swartz on March 16, 1991. Mark retired from the regional jail located in Mercer County, where he worked as a supervisor in the food service department. He previously had worked as a police officer in Hartford, and later as deputy sheriff in Warren County.

He was of the Presbyterian faith, and his interests included boating, fishing, driving his antique cars, wiener roasts at Tammy's, and walking in the sand on the beach when on vacation.

Survivors include his wife Mildred at home, stepson, Richard J. “Buck” Delaney III; stepdaughter, Tammy Rose Duell and husband William R. Jr.; step-grandchildren, Ariana Rose Duell and William R. Duell III, all of Volant. Mark was preceded in death by his parents.

LARSON — Based on the wishes of Mark Richards Larson, who died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, the family will have a get-together for family and friends at 5 p.m. Sunday at Tammy's. Smith Funeral Home, in Slippery Rock, handled the services.
