Knoch to play West Mifflin in home opener
JEFFERSON TWP — Practice makes perfect.
Knoch has been working ... and working and working ... on its triple-option offense since first-year head coach Frank Whalen decided to go with that mode of attack this summer.
“Jake (Herrit, quarterback) has probably taken 1,000 snaps with this offense by now,” Whalen said. “He knows it. He's getting comfortable with it.”
That showed in the Knights' season-opening 39-13 Northwest Nine win at Blackhawk last week. Knoch opens its home schedule at 7 p.m. Friday, taking on West Mifflin in a non-conference game.
The Titans — 26-24 winners over Trinity in their opener — handed Knoch a 42-0 defeat early last season.
