Joseph Lewis Moore
Joseph Lewis Moore, 92, of Butler passed away Saturday at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.
He was born April 5, 1925, in Center Township, the son of the late Lewis Moore and Alta Callen Brown.
Joe was a member of Grace at Calvary Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Armco Steel. He belonged to Caravan 14, Masonic Lodge 272, Scottish Rite of New Castle, Syria Temple, the VFW and the Elks Club. Joe enjoyed golf, music and attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
Surviving are two daughters Mrs. Dale (JoAnn) Blain of Butler and Mrs. Steve (Janet) Trimbur of Butler; four grandchildren Tammi Delano, Greg Trimbur, Marcy Trimbur and Tiffany Lineman; eight great-grandchildren Nick, Nate, Brody, Joe, Maci, Noah, Billy and Niven; and his brother Thomas (Patty) Brown of Butler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 71 years Doris M. Thompson Moore; and his sister Betty Moore.
MOORE — Friends of Joseph Lewis Moore, who died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Grace at Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., Butler, with Pastor Tara Lynn officiating.
