Robert L. “Bob” Beighey

Robert L. “Bob” Beighey, 94, of Harmony died Tuesday.

Born Nov. 15, 1922, in Harmony, he was the son of the late Marvin H. and Gyla Kocher Beighey.

Bob served in the U.S. Army during World War II, achieving the rank of sergeant. He was a member of H-Z United Methodist Church. He retired in 1980 from Johns Manville after 40 years. Bob was the crossing guard at C.V. Elementary School for 17 years and touched many lives.

He leaves behind his two children, Barbara A. Ducoff of Piscataway, N.J., and John R. Beighey and his wife, Cathy, of Harmony; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Jean S. Jaros Beighey, who died July 10, 2015; and three sisters, Doris Jean Beighey, Helen Rape and Eileen Fox.
