Cherie C. Freeland
Cherie C. Freeland, 90, of Butler passed away Saturday.
She was born June 18, 1927, in Sturgeon, Pa., to the late Lawrence McCaffery and the late Cherie Bennet McCaffery.
In her early years, Cherie worked as an elementary school teacher at Holy Innocents in Pittsburgh, St. Gertrude's Catholic School in Vandergrift, and St. Mary's Catholic School in Kittaning'. She retired in June 1995 from being a case worker for the Butler County Assistance Office.
She is survived by her one son, Richard Freeland and his wife, Rose, of Butler; one daughter, Cherie A. Freeland and her companion, Kevin McCauley, of Butler; one grandson, Matthew Richard Freeland and his wife, Britney, of Butler; one great-grand-daughter, Madeline Lee Freeland; one brother, Bernard McCaffery and his wife, Mary Ann, of Mingo Junction, Ohio.
FREELAND — A memorial Mass for Cherie C. Freeland, who died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler.Following the memorial Mass, guests are invited to come to a reception to celebrate her life at her daughter's home at 120 Shady Drive, Butler.Arrangements are being handled by Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
