Walter D. “Pugs” Rearick
Walter D. “Pugs” Rearick, 80, of Butler passed away Tuesday at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
Born Nov. 29, 1936, in Butler, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Ellen M. McKissick Rearick.
He worked as a painter for Napco. He retired following 18 years of service.
He was Chief Silver Fox of the Apache Tribe. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boxing and was a leader with the Royal Rangers. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and National Guard.
Surviving is his wife, Frances Mayer Rearick; six children, Kristina Ocampo and fiancé, Al Campbell, Katherine (Troy) Sellers and Karen Mulqueen, all of Butler, Kelly (Kim) Foringer of New York, Glenda (Anthony) Enck of Texas and John Smoker of Harrisburg; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jacqueline “Kitty” Deal and Evelyn “Ev” (Paul) Rodgers, both of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings.
