Bernadette E. Metz
Bernadette E. Metz, 82, of West Sunbury, passed away Monday at Concordia at the Orchard in Butler.
Bernadette was born Sept. 17, 1934, in Pittsburgh. She was the daughter of the late Frank Pillard and the late Helen (Gorski) Pillard.
She was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church. Bernadette retired as a school teacher for Butler Catholic School. She was also owner and operator of Metz Greenhouse and was a tax consultant for H & R Block.
Bernadette is survived by four sons, William A. (Deborah) Metz Jr., of N.J., James D. (Donna) Metz, of West Sunbury, Thomas N. Metz, of West Sunbury and Richard A. (Janis) Metz, of N.J.; 11 grandchildren, Tammie, Thomas, William, Janet, Cynthia, Kristy, Nathaniel, Alison, James, Casey and Nolan; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Metz, who passed away Jan. 8, 2003; two sisters, Dorothy and Helen; two brothers, Edmund and Robert; and one daughter-in-law, Christine Metz.
METZ — The family of Bernadette E. Metz, who died Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.
